PMGSY or the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, which is being accelerated by the present PM Mr. Narendra Modi is truly redefining the missing key element of rural road connectivity in India. Linking these disconnected interiors are assuring socio economic and services continuity leading to better agricultural and employment viabilities. The government’s vision is to plan a uniform development and implementation model in every state interior based on uniform management set on top notch technical parameters. By setting an umbrella of planned rural all weather road network, it visualizes sustainable development to reach every remote household. The ministry of rural development oversees this very sensitive connectivity project.

Eligibility of unconnected habitations (500 meters Plains & 1.5 km for Hills) of designated population size (500 Plus in Plains & 250 Plus in North East & Himalayan states, Desert and Tribal Areas).

99 % of the marked inhabitants have been linked through all-weather road network.
Since its inception, nearly about 7 Lakh km road length laying achieved
90% of the project cost borne by Union Government for project schemes sanctioned under North Eastern & Himalayan States, and 60% for other states.
Construction of the rural roads are in accordance of the provisions of the Indian Roads Congress (IRC), which is the apex body of highway engineers of India setup in 1934.
